Your Humble Servant George Washington

  • Gloucester Historic Courthouse 6504 Main Street Gloucester, VA, 23061 United States (map)

Join us for Your Humble Servant George Washington presented by Augustine Warner Chapter NSDAR - Gloucester.

Colonel Washington will discuss your concerns after Patrick Henry’s fiery speech at St. John’s
Church in Richmond before he departs for the Second Continental Congress in Philadelphia.
Many of you feel that since the end of the late war with the French, the treatment by King George III
and Parliament has put an unfair burden upon you, your purses, and your affairs.
While you see yourselves as loyal British subjects, the unlawful method of taxation without
parliamentary representation, and most recently, the quartering of British soldiers in private homes
in Boston, has caused you to question old alliances.

This program is free & open to the public.

Refreshments will be provided by the DAR after the program on the court circle green.
