NEW BOOK! AVAILABLE AT THE GLOUCESTER MUSEUM OF HISTORY & VISITOR CENTER
A remarkable new resource is now available for anyone interested in the Revolutionary War history of Gloucester and Mathews Counties. Written by acclaimed historian Martha W. McCartney and published by the Gloucester Museum Foundation, Gloucester and Mathews Counties' Revolutionary War Participants shines a light on the men and women, patriot and loyalist, and free and enslaved, whose lives were shaped by the American Revolution. Through extensive research, the book explores the stories of over 700 local people, including dozens of "newly discovered" veterans.
Beginning on July 2, Gloucester and Mathews Counties' Revolutionary War Participants is available for purchase for $30.00 at the Gloucester Museum of History (6539 Main Street) and Gloucester Visitor Center (6504 Main Street). This publication represents the culmination of years of research and stands as a lasting legacy of the Gloucester 250 Committee. Huzzah, Martha!
