Tavern Concert: Music of the Revolution

Enjoy an afternoon of 18th and early 19th century compositions inspired by the American Revolution performed in the historic setting of our 1770 tavern ballroom

Laura Heydt – Soprano

Laura Heydt is an accomplished opera singer and educator who teaches music at Ware Academy in Gloucester, Virginia. She has performed at concert halls, historic venues, and community stages throughout the United States and Europe. A dedicated member of the American Friends of Lafayette, she chaired the Baltimore music committee and performed at numerous Lafayette Bicentennial events, including ceremonies at the U.S. Capitol, Virginia State Capitol and Executive Mansion, Philadelphia, Yorktown, and Washington, DC.

Kaylan Stevenson

Kaylan Stevenson – Piano

A classically trained pianist, Kaylan serves as a Manuscript Editor at the Omohundro Institute for Early American History and Culture, a research organization sponsored by the College of William & Mary and Colonial Williamsburg. Ms. Stevenson also serves as Creative Lead for Colonial Williamsburg’s evening dance ensemble, she performs regularly as a dancer and baroque flautist, occasionally appearing on baroque flute with Colonial Williamsburg’s resident chamber music ensemble, the Governor’s Musick.
