Space and the Revolution: Evening Dig & Stargazing August 15 | 5:00–10:00 p.m. Rosewell Ruins This unique VA250 program connects archaeology and astronomy during the Perseid meteor shower. Participants will take part in an evening excavation at the Rosewell Visitor Center, then stargaze after dark. The event highlights 18th-century scientific curiosity, drawing on John Page’s astronomical writings shared with Thomas Jefferson, and explores how modern archaeology uses drones and satellites to study Revolutionary-era landscapes.
